TRAFFIC & LANE CLOSURE NOTICE

Please be advised that UGI Utilities will be completing natural gas system upgrades in the area as part of the ongoing bridge project. Work is scheduled to begin in September and may result in lane restrictions, detours, and traffic delays.

Impacted areas include:
• Kennedy Boulevard between Water Street and Dock Street
• Dock Street between Kennedy Boulevard and Wharf Street

Construction hours: Typically 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

During construction hours, motorists should expect possible lane restrictions, detours, and delays. Please use caution when traveling through the area and allow additional time for your commute.

There will also be no parking on impacted streets during construction hours, and motorists should follow all posted signs, traffic markings, and directions from construction personnel.

UGI has indicated that affected natural gas customers may experience brief service interruptions during construction and will be notified as needed.

Please see the map below for the impacted areas and plan accordingly. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important work is completed.

🚨 Pittston Tomato Festival Advisory 🍅

The Pittston Tomato Festival begins tonight, August 20th at 6:00 PM and runs through Sunday, August 23rd at 8:00 PM.

🚧 Road Closures During Festival Hours

* Kennedy Street
* Tomato Festival Drive
* Spring Alley

🚲 Festival Grounds
For the safety of all attendees, bikes, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, and skateboards are NOT permitted on festival grounds.

🚗 Traffic & Pedestrian Advisory
Drivers should expect delays and heavy pedestrian traffic on South Main Street between Market Street and Broad Street throughout the festival.

🚷Pedestrians are reminded to use designated crosswalks and remain alert when crossing roadways.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – PITTSTON TOMATO FESTIVAL 🍅

📅 Saturday, August 22, 2026
⏰ Road closures begin at 9:45 AM

Please plan accordingly for the Tomato Festival 5K Run and Parade.

Beginning at approximately 9:45 AM, roadways in downtown Pittston will be closed from the Fort Jenkins/Dale Kridlo Bridge south to Plank Street/South Main Street.

🏃 The 5K Tomato Fest Run begins promptly at 10:00 AM, followed by the parade.

🚧 Closures are expected to remain in place until approximately 12:30–1:00 PM.

🚗 COMMON QUESTIONS

Will the Fort Jenkins/Dale Kridlo Bridge be closed?
➡️ No. The bridge will remain open. Traffic north of the bridge will be able to travel toward West Pittston, and traffic coming from West Pittston will be directed north.

⚠️ There will be NO exceptions to this traffic pattern.

Can I access William Street or the downtown area?
➡️ No. William Street or the downtown area will not be accessible by vehicle until after the parade.

I'm participating in the parade. When should I arrive?
➡️ Please arrive early and be in the staging area BEFORE the 5K begins at 10:00 AM. Once the race starts, getting into the staging area may not be possible.
