🚚 Touch-A-Truck Has Been Rescheduled! 🚒

Due to the weather, our Touch-A-Truck event has officially been moved to Sunday, June 21st! We appreciate everyone’s understanding and can’t wait to welcome everyone for a day full of family fun.

Since our new date falls on Father’s Day, we want to do something special for all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures in our community. Bring Dad out to see his heroes, from fire trucks and police vehicles to construction equipment and other big rigs. Let’s be honest, dads are often just as excited about the trucks as the kids are! 🚒🚓🚜

🎉 As a special Father’s Day thank-you, all fathers will receive FREE admission to the event! 🎉

Come climb aboard the vehicles, meet local first responders, learn about the equipment that serves our community, and create memories the whole family will enjoy.

Today, GPRA crews were proud to take part in Memorial Day parades across our service area, including Dupont, the West Wyoming/Wyoming joint parade, and the West Pittston/Exeter joint parades.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. We are honored to join our communities in remembering their sacrifice and showing our respect.

Thank you to our crews for representing GPRA with pride, and to the communities who continue to keep the meaning of Memorial Day at the forefront.

We can think of no better way to bring us in to this holiday weekend than by making a special announcement- welcome back to GPRA Captain Emmett Thomas! It’s been a long and hard battle for Emmett as he’s navigated some serious health challenges over the past few months. We send our thanks and love to everyone who has supported him in so many ways.

The GPRA will continue to support him in any way possible. Captain Thomas will be easing in to the field on a limited basis, and will continue to assist with training and data management. Let’s all show Emmett some love as he continues on his road to recovery! It’s so great to see you back in uniform!

Special shout out to our hard working crews for getting the job done on an extremely busy Wednesday throughout the GPRA district. Besides handling our typically heavy call volume, the crews participated in the mock car accident event at Pittston Area High School. Multiple on and off duty units also responded to a major fire incident in West Wyoming, providing standby coverage and rehab service. The day was capped off by our EMS Week celebration at Tomato Bar & Bistro

From lifesaving emergency responses to providing comfort during difficult moments, EMS professionals are always ready when seconds matter most.

Thank you to our crews for your tireless service, sacrifice, and dedication to the people of Greater Pittston and surrounding communities. We are proud of everything you do.

Tip of the cap to Luzerne County Government for recognizing the upcoming EMS Week. We as EMS providers sometimes get lost in the shuffle, so we certainly appreciate the County taking a moment to recognize the importance of our profession.

GPRA Lt. M. Vitali was on hand to represent us at the ceremony, along with other local EMS professionals.
