QFC LOCK BOX PROGRAM proves to be successful
On Thursday morning just before 1AM, Quakertown Fire Company and Franklin Twp Police were dispatched to a residence in the township for an elderly resident who had fallen and was injured and unable to get up. Upon the dispatch, Hunterdon County Communications advised that a lock box was located at the house to assist in entry.
The QFC Fire Chief and FT Police arrived in 6 minutes and the officer was able to call HCC and easily retrieved the code to open the box and quickly access a house key. Without delay, first responders were able to enter the home and start patient care.
Shortly thereafter, QFC Ambulance arrived and continue patient care until the resident was loaded in the ambulance and transported to the hospital. The house was able to be secured by the police and the key was locked back up.
The lock box was provided and installed by the Quakertown Fire Company through a program that was established in early 2025 for just this reason. A secure way to enter a house with no delay or damage when a resident is in need with NO cost.
QFC Career staff have installed these lock boxes per the request of the homeowners on houses in Franklin, Alexandria and Union.
