Congrats to theatre students JD Cavalluzzi and Alyssa Abernethy, OC Artist of the year semi-finalists. JD is a semi-finalist for theatre AND film, and Alyssa is a semi-finalist for Media Arts. We are so proud of both if you for this awesome accomplishment!

Today the OC Register announced the 2025 nominees for OC Artist of the Year. Congrats to EDHS theater nominees Makaela Moore, Fernando Nunez, Kaitlyn DeTevis, Bailey Erney, JD Cavalluzzi, Avery Henkenius, Riley Mills, Link Montgomery and Owen Switzer.

Semi finalists will be announced next week. For now, you can read about all the finalists and see some of their work here:

In the program’s 12th year, 923 students were nominated, representing 82 local high schools, arts organizations and private arts instructors.

The musical theatre class will present Adventures of a Comic Book Artist this Thursday @6, Friday @6, and Saturday @ 2 and 6. This is a great show for little kids, as it is only about an hour long with no intermission. The front row is reserved for floor seating so they can be up close to the action. The show is in the G*i Jones Theater on campus (not the PAC, which will most likely also have some kind of show happening). Tickets are available at eldoradohs.booktix.com or at the door. Tickets are only $10. Seating is general admission - no assigned seats.
