At last night’s City Council meeting, Chief Tim Cordero was recognized for 39 years of dedicated service with the El Dorado County Fire Protection District. The Placerville Police Department was honored to present Chief Cordero with a retirement plaque commemorating his exceptional career in public safety.

A special thank you to Mr. Gunnerson and the talented students of the El Dorado High School woodshop program for bringing this plaque to life. Their craftsmanship and hard work made this recognition truly special.

Congratulations, Chief Cordero, on an outstanding career and well-earned retirement!

April 19–25 marks National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible SHIELD volunteers: Jim Holzer, Jim Stubbe, and Scott McWhirter.

These three individuals are truly invaluable to our police department. Whether they are shuttling fleet vehicles for repairs, delivering court documents, assisting at special events, or stepping in wherever help is needed, they consistently go above and beyond in service to both our department and the community.

Their dedication, reliability, and willingness to serve do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for everything they do and proud to have them as part of our team.
