While this may seem like a fun game, hidden hydrants can create challenges during an emergency. That's why our Hydrant Inspection Crew works year-round to clear vegetation and help keep hydrants visible and accessible, especially during wildfire season

🚧 What Happens When You Report a Leak?

Last week, a resident reported a leak on their street. Here's what happened next.

After investigating the issue, our Drinking Water Construction Team quickly got to work replacing a water service line.

The repair required excavating at both the water main and the meter to install a new copper service line. Once the work was completed, temporary patches were placed at the excavation sites to safely restore the area until permanent repairs are completed on the roadway and sidewalk.

The photos below show the repair before and after the work was completed.

Whether it's a leak repair, service line replacement, or other maintenance issue, our crews are committed to responding quickly and providing reliable service to our customers.

Nearly 50 years ago, EID constructed a 66-million-gallon recycled water reservoir in El Dorado Hills to help maximize water efficiency and support irrigation demands throughout the community.

Today, the reservoir continues to play an important role by storing recycled water during lower-demand periods and releasing it during peak summer irrigation months 🌱☀️

This long-term investment helps reduce reliance on drinking water supplies for outdoor irrigation while supporting reliable recycled water service for customers.

💧🔧 A new pressure-reducing station recently passed its final inspection with EID Inspector Mitch and a representative from Cla-Val, the valve manufacturer.

This new station will help ensure water is safely delivered at regulated pressures to the downstream service area while also maintaining reliable flows needed for critical fire protection 🚒💧

Projects like this require teamwork across multiple departments. Engineers, mechanics, operators, and inspectors all play an important role in the successful implementation of these critical assets.
