🚌 EDUHSD Bus Drivers Prepared at Every Turn

EDUHSD bus drivers recently participated in hands-on emergency response training alongside local first responders. The countywide training covered school bus rollover response, Stop the Bleed techniques and active violence situations, helping drivers build the skills and confidence to respond in a crisis.

Our district nurses also led training on medical situations drivers may encounter while transporting students, while EDUHSD Student Success staff and El Dorado County SELPA provided guidance on safely supporting students with disabilities.

Thank you to the El Dorado County Driver Trainer Advisory Council for coordinating this important training, as well as El Dorado Hills Fire, CHP, EMS and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office for sharing their expertise.

We are grateful for the dedicated professionals who work together to help keep our students safe from the moment they step onto the bus until they arrive home.

Club Day gave students a chance to explore nearly 40 clubs and service organizations, meet student leaders and advisors, and find new ways to get involved on campus.

From discovering a new interest to finding a place to connect and contribute, opportunities like these are an important part of the high school experience.

That’s how many breakfasts and lunches our EDUHSD Nutrition Services teams serve to students across our district in an average week. Pretty impressive!

From fresh fruit and salads to sandwiches, pizza and more, our Nutrition Services staff work hard to make sure students across EDUHSD have tasty, nutritious options to keep them fueled and ready to learn.

Placerville needs our votes!✨🎄

Placerville has been selected as one of just 25 Official Hallmark Christmas Towns in the country, and even better, Placerville is the ONLY California town on the list!

Now our community is in the running to be named Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town of 2026!

And there’s a pretty fun prize at stake. The winning town will have the opportunity to serve as the filming location for a future Hallmark holiday movie! 🎬🎄

Many of our EDUHSD students, staff and families call Placerville home, so let’s rally behind our community and show the rest of the country just how special it is!

A full-circle FFA story!

Union Mine High School alumnus Bryan Bloxsom (Class of 2023) found a pretty incredible way to give back to the program that helped shape his future.

Now an Agricultural Communications student at Montana State University, Bryan chose to bring his final graduation service project home to Union Mine FFA. He took a heavily deteriorated trailer and, after hundreds of hours of work, rebuilt it from the ground up into a Mobile Agriculture Education Trailer! 👏

The finished trailer will be used by Union Mine FFA at Farm Day, school and community events, and other outreach opportunities to teach others about agriculture and the opportunities available through FFA.

We love seeing an EDUHSD graduate take what he learned here, continue his education and bring those skills right back to benefit the next generation of students. Way to go, Bryan! 🌱

It’s Gold Pan week! 🏈🏆

Friday night, two EDUHSD schools go head-to-head as the El Dorado Cougars take on the Ponderosa Bruins in the annual Gold Pan Game!

It’s one of our community’s great high school football traditions, bringing together students, families, alumni and fans from both schools.

Whether you’re cheering in 💙 for the Cougars or 💚 for the Bruins, we’re looking forward to a great night of football and school spirit!

Putting physics into motion! 📏🚗

AP Physics students at Ponderosa High School are already preparing for May’s AP Exam! Last week, students took learning outside the classroom to calculate average velocity using a timer, car, chalk and a little math.
