SYRCL is taking a clear position: Vote NO on Proposition 45.
Proposition 45 would gut CEQA — California’s bedrock environmental protection law — fast-tracking data centers, new dams, logging operations, and energy facilities while stripping communities of their right to weigh in before projects are approved. An independent analysis by the Legislative Analyst’s Office found the measure could cost California taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars. And behind the ballot language, it is backed by the California Chamber of Commerce, oil and gas companies, and corporate PACs.
For decades, CEQA has given communities like ours a voice in decisions that shape our water, our forests, and our rivers. SYRCL stands with a coalition of more than 300 conservation, environmental justice, and public health organizations in opposing it.

No Kings: Vote Early on October 17th is not a rally. It is a call to ACTION.

We have shown our power in the streets. Now it is time to use it. Free and fair elections are the foundation of democracy, and the strongest way to defend democracy is to VOTE.

Here is what October 17th is about:
✅ Helping people make a plan to vote, from registering to finding their polling place
✅ Educating our neighbors about their voting rights
✅ Preparing for sustained action if anyone interferes with our elections

Some communities will still rally, and that is okay. You know your community best, which is why this movement is decentralized. If you rally, ask what comes after. How will everyone who showed up get plugged into nonviolent resistance?

This regime is casting doubt on our elections. If our election laws are trampled, we will show our power again. We may need everyone in the streets, so keep that energy.

On October 17th, make your plan to vote, connect with local organizations protecting our elections, and decide how you will join sustained action if our elections are interfered with.
