The Plain City Police Department provides 24-hour police protection to all residents of Plain City. We strive to meet the needs of the community by offering several specialized programs and services. We have a fully trained and state certified K-9 program. Andor and his handler, Officer Josh Hirtzinger, specialize in narcotics detection, tracking, and article/area searches. Prather is a member of

the county-wide Patient Lifesaver Program (PLS), which is designed to provide an extra layer of protection and safety for alzheimer and dimentia patients. The police department performs thousands of property checks each year for residents on vacation or those who have been affected by suspicious activity or civil disturbances. We also conduct community training on a variety of topics throughout the year. We also provide specialized or concentrated traffic patrols in areas where there are potential problems. We use technology to assist us in this, by utilizing a large LED display radar trailer and more covert tool called Stealth Stat. The Stealth Stat is mounted in an area affected by speeding motorists and helps us identify times of the day, actual speeds, and the volume of cars, so that we may then deploy marked patrol cars for traffic enforcement. The Police Department believes wholly in the value of community policing and utilizes bike patrol and foot patrol to bring officers closer to the residents.

👮‍♂️ Welcome to PCPD, Officer Skyler Roberts! 👏

Please join us in congratulating Plain City Police’s newest officer, Skyler Roberts, who was officially sworn in by Mayor of Plain City Jody Carney during Monday evening’s Village Council meeting.

✨ Skyler brings with him 10 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Originally from Findlay, Ohio, Skyler was stationed in Virginia before deciding to move his family back to Ohio to be closer to relatives and pursue a career in law enforcement.

🚓 Officer Roberts attended the police academy at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC), where he earned the Officer Thomas W. Cottrell Jr. Award, the highest honor presented during the Peace Officer Basic Training program. The award recognizes academic excellence, leadership, character, and overall achievement.

“We’re really excited to have Skyler on the team and he's fitting in very well," said Chief Dale McKee. "He comes from a very disciplined background, which will make him a great officer and wonderful asset to the Plain City community."

We're proud to celebrate Officer Ryan Flowers for 20 years of dedicated service with the Plain City Police Department! 👮‍♂️👏

Officer Flowers was recognized at Monday’s Village Council meeting by Chief Dale McKee, who commended his commitment and service to our community over the past two decades.

A Plain City native, Officer Flowers has called it an honor to serve his hometown throughout his career. Since joining the department as a patrol officer, he has served in many important roles, including Field Training Officer, where he helps train and mentor new officers, as well as serving on the Bike Patrol Unit.

🚸Today, many families know Officer Flowers through his work with outreach programs alongside Jonathan Alder Schools at Plain City Elementary and Monroe Elementary. From directing traffic during morning drop-off and afternoon pickup to helping students safely navigate crosswalks and buses, he is a familiar and trusted presence for students, parents, and staff alike.

Officer Flowers has a true heart for serving youth in our community. Through his role, he teaches elementary students about internet safety, gun safety, and more. He's also a regular in teaching kids at Safety Town, which took place last week.

Thank you, Officer Flowers, for your selfless dedication, leadership, and service to the Plain City community for 20 years and counting! 💙

👮 Please join us in congratulating Plain City Police’s newest member, Officer Ryan Molter! 👏

Ryan was officially sworn in by Mayor Jody Carney at Monday evening’s Village Council meeting and is excited to begin serving the Plain City community.

A familiar face to many in our village, Ryan grew up in Plain City and is a graduate of Jonathan Alder High School.

✅ Last fall, he attended the Delaware County Police Academy, where he stood out among his classmates by earning the highest score in the academy on the state exam with an impressive 99 percent! He was also selected to serve as his class speaker.

Along with his academy achievements, Officer Molter brings prior job experience that will be a valuable asset in his new role with the Plain City Police Department.

Congratulations to Officer Bayley Bocook who graduated from Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training that was held in Marysville as part of a collaborative effort between all interested stakeholders in Union, Logan, Champaign and Madison counties. This training focuses on providing officers with the necessary training, techniques and resources to safely assist those who may be suffering from a crisis such as a mental heath issue. The training covers recognizing symptoms of mental illness, verbal de-escalation, legal issues related to mental health, and understanding community resources.

The Plain City Division of Police makes it mandatory that all officers complete this valuable and necessary training.
