It’s National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, and we want to thank all our dispatchers.

They are a vital component for us to do what we do. The communication between “you” and “us” would literally fall apart without them.

What stood out most wasn’t just the training itself—but the people.

Each of these individuals stepped forward to serve in a different way. To listen. To support. To show up for others during some of the most difficult moments our personnel may face.

That takes trust. It takes humility. And it takes a genuine commitment to something bigger than yourself.

These 28 now represent the newest members of our Wellness Section, and we couldn’t be more proud of the example they are setting across our department.

This is how we continue to move forward—by building a culture where taking care of our people is not just something we say, but something we do.

ISP Hero WOD - Trooper Jason E Beal

Today we push ourselves, not for a number on the board, not for a personal record, but for something much, much deeper…HONOR!  Take on this ISP Hero WOD to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice… those who held the line so we could live freely, train freely, and continue becoming the very best versions of ourselves.

Trooper Jason E Beal
Hometown: Shelbyville, Indiana
District: Bremen
Appointed: December 13, 1998
Deceased: January 16, 2000

While patrolling southeastern Kosciusko County, Trooper Beal stopped to assist a wrecker operator, who was pulling a car out of a ditch. As the two men worked along side State Road 14, the driver of a passing vehicle lost control of her car on the icy roadway striking the wrecker and the state trooper. Trooper Beal died from his injuries three days later.
