This is just another reason parents are showing up to the school board meetings. They hypocrisy surrounding masks is on a whole other level. We have seen teachers unions gather maskless, sitting at tables not social distancing, and now we see the Superintendents gathering for a conference in Springfield, once again, maskless and sitting right next to each other. But I guess Covid only strikes when funding is on the line. Still think this is about safety?

Approved by the FDA in 2006, Pfizer is now recalling Chantix due to high levels of cancer-causing agents found in the product. 15 yrs this product was on the market harming people who were looking to quite smoking and wanting to be healthier. Why did it take so long to pull it? Will we see this same scenario with vaccines?

It’s been a while. A lot going on in our state. The next big push is going to be the right to not vaccinate. Rumors have it that an emergency use for kids 6-12 is coming this fall. IL is one state that a 12 yr old can consent to HPV and Hepatitis vaccine without parental consent. Yes, you read that correctly. That’s why you now have to have your children sign permission to see their medical records once they turn 12. Don’t you think this will eventually apply to a Covid shot? And to make matters worse, they are reaching your kids through social media. According to AP News, Alabama used Tik Tok and held a contest. Winner would receive $250 for the best video promoting the Covid 19 vaccine. They are circumventing parents from the dialogue, and taking zero responsibility for anything that happens after. So are we now telling kids don’t listen to your parents? Don’t trust them, trust me, the government?

People want to know and often ask why CRT is bad? Don’t we want to be diverse? Critical race theory is not about being diverse. It actually divides races. And schools aren’t using the words or calling it CRT, but they are pushing it through every avenue of teaching.

“Bessinger clarified that "critical race theory" is not mentioned anywhere in the new curriculum, but said its "tenets" are implied in all of the lessons.

"The CRT theory is reflected in the novelettes and the booklets and the projects and the storylines and themes," Bessinger said. That is problematic because, yes, it is a part of our history. We're not a perfect nation historically, but we're pretty darn close to it," Bessinger said. "We were teaching slavery. We were teaching the civil rights movement prior to all of this. Now, these books basically are suggesting to children that this is the only narrative that defines America."

Not only this, but she goes on to say that she felt a huge disconnect and with her students by the end of the year, and that they mistrusted her. Other teachers felt the same but are fearful of speaking out b/c people would label them racist.

In one short year, this is how it turned out for one teacher. Can you imagine if all the states are teaching this? When did we get away from teaching children how to think, and instead forcing them what to think? Why are we so focused on one aspect of the past? And why are we ultimately teaching people of color they can’t amount to something just because of the color of their skin? That they are oppressed, and that your white neighbor is the person who did it. Read the article, look at the photos. We want to stop dividing people, not promote it in our schools.

And this is why you can’t “force” people to take the vaccine or bribe them with no masks at school, in hopes that they take it. The emergency use of a drug should be a personal decision, not one swayed by politics or money. I know people who have taken the vaccine and still wear a mask. That’s the choice that is best for them. I want to make my own choice for my children and family.

CDC has come up with some guidelines for the upcoming school year. There are so many different questions we now need to ask and new things to push for.

First, why is the entire state open fully except for schools? Why do schools have different rules to follow? Wrigley Field's capacity is 41,649 people. All those strangers come together for a game, drinking, singing, yelling and hanging out. Do we test them before entering the ballpark? Lollapalooza will have 100,000 people EACH DAY, and they aren't limited to 3ft, masks, or testing before entering. But when it comes to our children's education, we are placing a different set of rules. Nowhere in Illinois are they checking vaccination status, but they are pushing this for schools? Why? UPS, FedEx both have been open this entire time. They don't have these set of rules. All shopping centers, same set of rules as any other business. So you have to ask yourself, why are children's education being held hostage and subjected to different rules? And why do vaccinated kids have a different set of rules than unvaccinated ones while at school?

The other thing that has been up for discussion is how are school's retaining vaccination status? Who sees it? Are they in violation? The answer seems to be yes, so why is ISBE and IDPH pushing for this?

But my favorite quote of this article is “The guidance is really written to allow flexibility at the local level.” So there is no reason to have any laws made and for school districts to ask for "permission", they already have the power to do what's right.

The WHO isn't recommending children get vaccinated against COVID-19, in part because of the low risk that COVID poses to them and the need to vaccinate higher-risk populations first.
