For owner-occupied, single-family residential properties in Romeoville

The application window for this year's Property Tax Rebate is now open!

As a reminder...
- Only owner-occupied, single-family residential properties in Romeoville are eligible.
- Owners of applying properties must have paid their 2025 property tax bill in full and must be current on all payments owed to the Village of Romeoville.
- Commercial and rental properties are not eligible.
- Residents in unincorporated areas are not eligible.

Those who are approved for the tax rebate will receive $100 within two weeks of approval, either by check or as credit on their water bill. For questions about the Property Tax Rebate program, contact the Finance Department at 815-886-5257. The last day to apply is December 1, 2026. No applications will be accepted following the close of business on December 1

🚧 🌳 Storm Branch Pickup Update 🚧🪾

We’re happy to announce that our storm branch pickup has officially concluded, and our chipper routes for this week are complete!

Beginning Monday August 31st, we will resume our regular branch pickup program.

This has been an especially challenging summer for our community and our Highway Department. Northern Illinois has experienced an unusually active severe-weather season, including a June tornado outbreak that produced 24 tornadoes in the NWS Chicago area, the second-largest outbreak on record, followed by additional severe storms, damaging winds and tornadoes throughout the summer. (National Weather Service⁠)

Our crews have put in countless hours and an incredible amount of physical labor responding to storm after storm, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

A huge thank you to all of our residents who have reached out, supplied treats, dropped things off, or simply taken the time to thank our team. Those gestures have meant so much and have truly helped keep morale up during some very long and demanding days.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and for recognizing the hard work our Highway Department does for Plainfield Township. We are grateful for all of you!

Services, Vendors, Raffles, Mobile DVM, Bingo, and more...The Senior Health and Wellness Fair was a tremendous success again this year.
Thank you to our co-hosts: Plainfield Park District, C.W. Avery Family YMCA, & State Representative Jessica Dixon Heitman. And thank you to the elected offices, agencies, and vendors that attended and contributed to the day.
We are already looking forward to next year.
