High School was opened in 2012 as the newest junior high school in Oswego Community District #308. Since then, the Murphy music staff has worked to create an environment for students to experience and excel in music. With our 4 performing instrumental music ensembles and 3 choral ensembles, we strive to develop students into citizens who have a true awareness and understanding of music as an art f

orm. Students experience music through performance, listening exercises, exploring connections in other disciplines, and more. It is our hope that students leave our program with an appreciation of music and the arts that lasts a lifetime. Opened in 2012, Murphy JHS Band and Music Department strives to help students discover musical values high in excellence.

Mr.McGehee and Ms. Karvelius wanted to say thank you and congratulations to Caleb Herring for his high school graduation and for all his help over the years! Our audio and video and live streams have improved over the years and credit goes to Caleb! Thank you Caleb! We know you're going to do amazing things! Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this year's Oswego Honor Band! Students from Bednarcik, Murphy, Thompson, and Traughber came together with conductor, Mike Miller to play several pieces including a world premiere by Laura Estes entitled Peaceful Energy!
