Thanks to a donation from the Sertoma Club of Springfield, IATP has 10 SafeAwake Bed Shakers to give away. The SafeAwake is a fire safety device that awakens deaf, hard-of-hearing, and other individuals to fire emergencies.

The device is designed to work with a properly installed, working smoke alarm to alert sleeping individuals to a fire. The Springfield Fire Department will deliver and install the devices at no cost.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this device and live in Springfield, IL, please call IATPโ€™s Reuse Program at 217-522-7985 to see if you qualify.

Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit providing critical, high-impact home repair and renovation services at no cost to eligible homeowners in need.

Services may include:

- Ramps and home repair services targeting significant safety and health hazards

- Minor repairs and modifications such as installing grab bars and securing or installing interior and exterior railings

- Community projects based on input from residents and other stakeholders

Illinois affiliates are located in:

- Aurora

- Henry County

- Metro and north suburban Chicago

- Peoria

- Southwest Illinois

- Stephenson County

Sunday morning at the carnival belongs to a quieter crowd.
Special Needs Day runs 10 AM to noon on Sunday, September 6 โ€” two hours on the midway before the music starts and the crowds build. Same rides, same lights, a lot less noise.

We're excited to help host the 5th annual Celebration of Special Recreation: The Inclusion Experience on Saturday, October 10 from 11am to 2pm at Bolingbrook Park District'a Annerino Community Center. Experience adaptive fun for people of all ages and abilities. Tentative activities include: Mini-Horses and Mini-Donkeys, Beep Baseball, Adaptive Golf, Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Clay Play, Therapeutic Music, Adaptive Black Light Glow Activities, Gymnastics, and more.
