Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 uses social media to share important news, highlight student and staff achievements and celebrate the work of our schools. These pages are designed for families, students, staff, alumni and community members to stay connected with the District. While interactions on social media are not intended to circumvent regular communication channels for
sharing personal issues or concerns, the District welcomes comments from students, parents, and members of our community. We encourage our community to participate respectfully and ask that comments or direct messages remain courteous, accurate and relevant to the District 202 community. District 202 reserves the right to remove inappropriate comments that do not adhere to the commenting guidelines below. In doing so, it is the District’s intent to create a limited public forum. District 202 will not, however, remove or edit otherwise permissible comments based on viewpoint. District 202 reserves the right to remove comments from its social media pages that:
● Use offensive terms that target or disparage any specific ethnic, racial, gender or religious group
● Contain language that is vulgar or threatening to a person’s health or safety
● Are clearly spam or generated by AI
● Contain false statements or information
● Promote or advertise particular services or products
● Individually identifies a student without the express permission of the parent/guardian
● Divulge private, personally identifiable information, such as social security numbers, personal email addresses, confidential personnel information, personal phone numbers or addresses
● Post copyrighted or trademarked material without the express consent of the copyright or trademark holder
Comments expressed on the District’s or schools’ social media pages do not necessarily reflect the opinions and/or position of the Board of Education or its administrators. Commenters are solely responsible for their own comments and are urged to follow these guidelines, use civility and decorum, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by each social media channel. For official feedback or questions requiring follow-up, community members are encouraged to email District staff or participate in the public comment portion of Board of Education meetings.
