SHE-THE-POWER.... It is a proud moment for all women of “Plainsboro Mask Squad” to be honored and recognized on International Womens day on March 8th 2021 by “Fedration Indian Association of tri state”.... “Consulate general of India NY” and... “President of Borough Brooklyn, NY”
Congratulations and Thanks to each and every woman in this group who worked selflessly to ensure every frontline worker or first responders received their masks at the time of crisis during Covid pandemic. And it makes it more special to receive this Award on International Womens day to the team .
Once again thank you CGI, FIA and Borough President Brooklyn NY for the honor and recognition.
Once again We would like to take an opportunity to thank all who made donations for this mask mission. Without your support this was just impossible. 🙏🏻

Hello Community,
We wanted to share the article about the work of the “Plainsboro Mask Squad” that was just published in the local news paper.
Because of this beautiful community we were able to sew over 3200 masks for front liners.
We are grateful to all who were involved in this mission directly or indirectly. Thank you All for your efforts, quick financial support, service minded caring hearts and generosity by donations and time for the mask making project. You all made it possible for us to do good for others in the early days of extreme uncertainty and health crisis with no end in sight. 🙏🏾💜🙏🏾

What started as a couple of friends trying to do some good during a pandemic turned into thousands of masks sewn by dozens of volunteers.

Dear Community,

The Plainsboro Mask Squad hopes that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. We wanted to share some of the heartwarming letters we received from organizations where we donated masks. During uncertain and difficult times like this, such messages bring much needed positivity and encouragement to continue to help others in need.

Thank you to all those who donated monies and materials because your donations greatly supported our efforts. Also, we don’t know all of the donors, as some wished to be anonymous.

After research.... “They found that the FABRIC MASKS are the best.
Droplets from a simulated uncovered cough were able to travel more than 8 feet; with a bandana they traveled 3 feet, with a folded cotton handkerchief, they traveled 1 foot, 3 inches; and with the cone-style commercial mask, droplets traveled about 8 inches. With the stitched-quilting “FABRIC MASK”, they traveled 2.5 inches.”

The most effective non-medical masks for Covid-19 are homemade stitched masks. Researchers experimented with different choices in material and design to determine how well face masks block droplets as they exit the mouth.

Dear Community,

The Plainsboro Mask Squad members are humbled by the opportunity to help keep health workers and vulnerable residents safer by making masks. Due to various personal commitments of our members and then noticing more masks available in the community, we have decided to close off on making mask donations as a group.

If anyone needs masks, please do feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to connect you. We will leave this page open for the time being.

We are so grateful to the many generous donors (some known and others chose to stay “anonymous”), who supported our work efforts by providing us with material supplies and monetary donations.

Please note that we are donating all remaining funds to support some local food pantries and food needs of domestic violence families.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the wonderful and caring community of West Windsor and Plainsboro. We wish you all good health, as we continue through this unexpected journey.
