I am pleased to let you all know that as of the coming week, the University Police will have the ability to jump start vehicles, and in most cases unlock cars when the keys have been locked in. Please understand that these services are offered on the Plainview campus. In some cases the process of unlocking a vehicle without the keys, by its nature, can cause some damage to the car. You will be asked to sign a damage waiver prior to our attempts to get into the vehicle. We will also need to verify that you are the registered owner of the vehicle once entry is gained. Some cars are more difficult than others to get into, so while we will give it our best attempt, there are some vehicles that we cannot access. Services will be offered during business hours, or in the event of an emergency.

If you need assistance please call the on duty phone at 806-774-4225, or in the event of an after hours emergency call the Plainview Police non-emergency number at 806-296-1182.

In Service,
Chief Thornton
