Attention campers. Please see the attachments about our new online camping reservation site.

The online system for reserving campsites and shelters at Illinois state parks and historic sites will transition to an updated and more user-friendly platform beginning Friday, May 1.



To accommodate the transition, electronic reservations will be unavailable April 27-30. Customers will still be able to make walk-up reservations at campgrounds as availability allows during these dates.



Users will continue to use exploremoreil.com – the customer service platform of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources – to make reservations after the transition. Reservations made prior to April 27 will automatically migrate to the new platform; customers will be required to use the same email to access them. All customers will need to create a new account and password in the new system.



Thank you for your patience during the transition, and we look forward to welcoming you this summer.

If you didn’t come out to Beaver Dam last week here’s what you missed. Our campground hosts are both back for the season. Our firewood vendor brought wood to our campground. Smokey came back after a long hibernation and restoration. Spring is here, the wild flowers are blooming ,the trees are budding and the campground is ready for your stay.
