The Pirates were represented well at the state track meet at Omaha Burke! Medalists were:
Boys 4x800 - 5th
Kohen Lingenfelter, Wyatt Schroth, Bastion Curtiss, and Collin Montgomery.
Girls 4x100 - 3rd
Peighton Arlt, Pressley Alexander, Emma Sauser, Avery Hardisty.
Emma Sauser - Triple jump 7th
Braedon Kment - Pole Vault 6th
Avery Hardisty - 400M 4th, 200M 7th
Other individual competitors were Pressley in the high jump and 100H, Emma in the long jump, Wyatt in the high jump, Bastion in the 300H, Peighton in pole vault, Jaxon Ward in the 200M, and Kobe Maertins in the 110H.
Avery also broke the school record in the 400 and Peighton tied the school record in pole vault! So proud of our Pirates!

The fourth grade class ended the school year participating in Fear Factor: Classroom Edition! The students had to use their five senses to complete the challenges and then partake in a scavenger hunt testing their knowledge over what they learned throughout the school year! The kids were brave and accepted all the challenges! It was a fun day!

Congrats to Jake Zuhlke and the Plainview Pirates as the team earned their first team state birth since 2016. Jake carded an 88 placing 10th and leading the way for the 3rd place Pirates. Their 368 beat out 4th place by one stroke.

1st graders had their annual camp out day in the classroom. Both classes started the day off by reading the story "Fireflies" and made a craft to go with the story. They also got to enjoy different rotations in tents that included reading with flashlights, completing campout word searches, math activities, and grammar activities. They also got to enjoy some qr code stories in lawn chairs near campfires. At the end of the day both classes enjoys a fun non messy s'more snack. The kids had a blast and as usual the teacher loved every minute of it!

The fifth grade math class of Mrs. Wilmes has been learning a lot about volume and surface area. They created a "Volume Zoo" where they had to create life size zoo animals and find the volume of them! They had a blast and they turned out great!
