Plainville Recreation Department The official account of the Plainville Recreation Department in Plainville, CT Programs are offered both seasonally and year-round.

Children's programs include: Kidz-R-Size, toddle time, girl's volleyball, exploring art, water safety instruction, lifeguard training, parent & child aquatics, Red Cross swim instruction, yoga, toddle time, basketball clinics, youth basketball league, day & mini camps, beginner diving, swim team, lifeguard training, tennis, youth dance, modern dance, skiing & snowboarding, gymnastics, and golf. Pr

ograms for adults include: golf, zumba, softball, men's basketball, yoga, co-ed volleyball, dog obedience, water aerobics, swim instruction, public boating, and The Plainville Wind Ensemble. Other recreational offerings include: trips, special events, concerts, year-round swimming programs, a Halloween Parade, school vacation specials, bingo and a Fun Day. The Plainville High School indoor pool is available for use for all Plainville residents without charge throughout the year. Additional services offered by the Recreation Department include permits for the use of Town softball diamonds, picnic facilities, tennis courts and sand volleyball court. Picnic equipment is also made available for loan to Plainville residents upon request. Providing activities both for the individual and the family, the Recreation Department will continue to serve the leisure needs of the community. Seasonal flyers describing all programs can be obtained in the Recreation Department at 50 Whiting Street. Questions regarding any program can be answered by calling the Recreation Department directly during regular business hours at (860) 747-6022.

Why should people have all the fun? Bring your four legged friend to our 4th Annual Pooch Plunge. This event will take place on August 23 from 5-7 p.m.

Please make note that this event is for the pups only, people will not be allowed into the water. Admission is free. Please only bring social, well behaved dogs. Dogs should have current vaccinations and tags.
