Remembering 25 Years Since 9/11

On September 11, 2026, we will gather at our Public Safety Building to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

We come together to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and recognize the courage and sacrifice of first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary strength in the face of tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we remember, we honor, and we will never forget.

We invite our community to join us as we pause together in remembrance and reflection. 🇺🇸

Today, the Plainville Fire Department was honored to be part of the YMCA Block Party!

It was a great opportunity to connect with members of our community and spend time with local families. The kids had a great time exploring our fire engine and learning more about the equipment our firefighters use every day.

Thank you to the YMCA for inviting us and for hosting such a great community event!

Today, Plainville Fire Department responded to a stubborn brush fire in an area with limited access, presenting additional challenges for our crews.

Utilizing our UTV, firefighters were able to access the fire area and effectively extinguish the fire.

Plainville Fire Department responded as part of a mutual aid assignment to the Town of Cumberland for a motor vehicle accident involving an electric vehicle on Route 295.

Our crews worked alongside Cumberland’s emergency responders to assist at the scene. We appreciate the continued cooperation and strong mutual aid partnerships among our neighboring departments.

Please use caution when traveling through the area and give emergency crews room to operate.

Lieutenant Angelo recently conducted training with our Call Firefighters focused on reviewing Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) operations. This hands-on refresher helps ensure our members remain proficient and prepared to safely operate in challenging environments.

Continued training and maintaining these critical skills are essential to the safety of our firefighters and the community we serve.

Today, the on-duty crew conducted hands-on training focused on water supply, drafting, and pumping operations. These essential skills ensure our firefighters are prepared to establish and maintain an effective water supply during emergency incidents where there are no fire hydrants are readily available.

Plainville Fire Department conducted drafting operations training today. Our firefighters practiced establishing a water supply from a static water source, reinforcing the skills and teamwork necessary for effective fireground operations.

Continuous training helps ensure our members are prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community needs us most.

August 7 is observed as National Day, when we recognize those members of the US Armed Forces who were wounded or gave their lives in action. We honor all the veterans who have served in the nation's defense, and especially the immense sacrifices that so many have made.
