Kitten Storm Drain Rescue
A good Samaritan reported that a kitten had been stuck in a storm drain for a few days. The Animal Services Officer found that the kitten had managed to pick the deepest drain possible - about a six foot drop. She spent about 45 minutes laying on the hot street and using her phone camera to look down into the sewer so she could view the kitten as she tried to capture it. She was finally able to get her out and found that she was dehydrated, anemic from a flea infestation, suffering from an upper respiratory infection and hungry. The kitten actually fainted when she was rescued. She’s since been bathed, fed, started on medications and is doing better in her foster home. Thank you to the good Samaritan and our awesome officer for their help!
