Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) is Newton, MA based after-school math enrichment program. RSM is the oldest and the most respected program with an emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking. Since 1997, thousands of children came to RSM in search of a more challenging math program than what their school could offer or simply to improve their math skills. Most families stayed with us for

many years and made RSM an integral part of their children's development. RSM program is based on Russian teaching methodology; it includes and exceeds all the requirements of the U.S. RSM is one of the few after-school programs with a complete, continuous K-12 curriculum designed to ensure thorough math education in a logical, sequential and age-appropriate way. RSM’s special focus on problem solving and critical thinking is one of the main features of our program. Unlike many tutoring services, RSM takes a long-term fundamental approach to teaching math. Students learn to think mathematically and logically, as opposed to merely memorize and follow routines. This is the only way to help a child build a strong foundation for future math and science courses. One more feature that makes RSM truly unique is the early introduction of Algebra. Every year RSM students win recognition from Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (JH CTY) and receive awards for their high scores in American Math Competitions ( AMC-8, 10, 12), MOEMS and Math Kangaroo. Our students consistently demonstrate excellent SAT results: our 11th graders' SAT average is 774/800 and our 7-8th graders' Johns Hopkins SAT average is 684/800 (compare to Massachusetts average of 516/800) . Many of our graduates were accepted to Ivy League colleges and other prestigious universities

We are delighted to have sponsored a team from our RSM student community at the robotics competition. It brings us great joy to support their aspirations and witness their success as they excel in the competition.

“I am a high school student in my final year at RSM. RSM's linear algebra and trignometry courses have helped me a lot with motion vectors in robotics. My understanding of linear transformations helped me understand the complex motion of my robot. Their teaching ensures that each and every student understands the material and nobody is dragging behind.” - Nitin Sathish

Since COVID, the college admissions landscape has become far more opaque - leaving both parents and students with a lack of clarity as to how to build a competitive application.

Happy Valentine’s from RSM Plano! ❤️❤️❤️

💘In the realm of cocoa, sweet and divine,
Where numbers entwine, a math lover's design.
Let's weave a tale of chocolate delight,
In equations and fractions, we take our flight.

Chocolate squares, a grid so neat,
Each side a number, a treat to greet.
Rows and columns, a symphony in math,
Counting joy in each cocoa-laden path.

In ratios rich, as dark as the night,
Cocoa to sugar, a balance so right.
A fraction of sweetness, a decimal's dance,
In the world of chocolate, numbers enhance.

Geometry whispers in chocolate molds,
Circles and rectangles, their stories unfold.
From truffles round to bars so square,
Mathematics and chocolate make a perfect pair.

Calculus layers, like chocolate tiers,
Integration of flavors, allaying our fears.
Derivatives of delight, a taste so prime,
In the calculus of cocoa, we savor each rhyme.

Probability sprinkled in cocoa dust,
Chance encounters of flavors robust.
A statistical blend in a melting pot,
Chocolate's symphony, a math lover's lot.

As we indulge in this mathematical delight,
Chocolate and numbers, a sweet insight.
In the language of equations, we find our glee,
For in the world of math, chocolate sets us free.
