๐ŸŽ“ 1,998 Dual Credit students earning college credit while still in high school

๐ŸŒ 620 International Baccalaureate (IB) students taking on rigorous, globally focused coursework

๐Ÿ’™ 9,284 total AVID students across 45 campuses building strong study and leadership skills

๐Ÿ“š 2nd graders showing big growth in college readiness: Reading up 15% and Math up 14%.

๐ŸŒŸThe Stars aligned at Sigler Elementary School - Plano, ISD! ๐Ÿค

Thank you to the Dallas Stars for stopping by for a school takeover today. Third graders participated in the Fitness Stars program and learned about floorball hockey from NHL alumni, coaches and even Victor E. Green!

Afterward, the Dallas Stars Foundation provided lunch for all teachers. Foundation volunteers also helped create interactive reading notebooks for students to enhance comprehension and encourage a love of reading.

Thank you to all of these Stars for making the day so special! ๐Ÿ’ซ

๐ŸŽ‰ District Made Growth includes being among the best in the nation, and Plano ISD students proved to be just that during the 2025-26 school year. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

PSAT 9: 9th graders beat the state benchmark average by 18 points and the national average by 15 points.

PSAT/NMSQT: Students scored 37 points above the state and 27 points above the national averages.

SAT: 11th graders came in 21 points higher than state averages and 20 points higher than national averages.

Hard work pays off, and Plano ISD students continue to focus on their long-term goals towards success!

What a special surprise at Skaggs Elementary this afternoon!

As part of a station "Picked Your Pickup Line" contest, Billy the Kidd and the Mix 102.9 NOW team stopped by to deliver giveaways and pizza to several parents during pickup time. One parent who nominated Skaggs Elementary for the contest also won the grand prize: tickets to see Ed Sheeran in concert! ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

Afterward, school staff were also treated to pizza and dessert, courtesy of Cicis Pizza! Thank you to Mix 102.9 and Cicis for supporting Skaggs Elementary! ๐Ÿ‘

Plano ISD students elevated their game by taking more than 13,700 Advanced Placement exams during the 2025-26 school year. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

84% of students earned a 3 or higher, compared to the state average of 60% and the global average of 72%.

1,577 students earned AP Scholar With Distinction, and 815 earned AP Scholar recognition.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month!

Vaccines protect people of all ages from potentially dangerous infectious diseases. Immunizing your child against vaccine-preventable diseases helps prevent outbreaks in schools and keeps our students and communities healthy.

Parents can visit pisd.edu/immunizations to learn more about immunization requirements and recommended vaccines for their children

Stop by the Robinson Fine Arts Center to check out their latest gallery featuring work from across Texas, including three from Plano ISD! ๐ŸŽจ

The Texas Art Education Association's Gold Seal Exhibition features 150 pieces selected for the prestigious Gold Seal Award, representing the ๐“๐จ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ% of all state-qualifying artworks.

The exhibit will be available for public viewing from 8:30 AM - 12 PM and 1:30 - 4 PM, Monday through Friday until September 18.
