The Assistance Center provides services to individuals and families experiencing financial crisis.
We provide information and referral over the phone M-F from 9am - 3pm for the Collin County area. We also provide temporary assistance toward rent and/or utility bills to remove the threat of eviction or utility disconnection for individuals and families experiencing a short-term crisis with a viable plan to meet their expenses moving forward. In addition, we provide the following services free of
cost to eligible clients: food pantry, clothing closet, school supplies for PISD students, Thanksgiving meals, holiday gifts for children, budgeting classes, financial counseling, job seeker classes and ESL. Please give us a call if you're experiencing a need and we will do our best to be of help or point you in the right direction!

Volunteer with us!
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, our office will be closed on Monday, May 30th. We will reopen at 9am on Tuesday. Have a safe holiday and remember and honor those who have served our country.

If you live in Collin County and need legal assistance regarding an eviction, or you live in the City of Allen and need rental assistance due to Covid, please attend this event on Saturday, 2/19. Representatives from Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas and the City of Allen will be there to assist you.
Heartfelt thanks to the Plano Family YMCA for collecting and donating toys and gifts for our holiday program💙 With their help, we were able to provide toys and gifts to over 300 families this year. We could not assist so many families in need without the support of our community partners and we are very thankful for this donation and the Plano Family YMCA!

To kick off the holiday season of giving, Medical City Frisco donated $5,000 to the Assistance Center of Collin County. The organization provides assistance to individuals and families in financial crisis to help them regain self-sufficiency. It's not too late to sign up to be a Holiday Hero for our annual Hope for the Holidays program! We still have 12 families that have not been adopted. This program provides gifts for children ages 1-17 and each child gives us 1-2 needs and 1-2 wishes that you can shop for. Will you help us brighten the holidays for a child in need?

For over 20 years, the Assistance Center has been matching families in need with individuals or group sponsors to provide holiday gifts for children in low-income families.
We still have 25 families who need adopters and we need Holiday Heroes to help us brighten the holidays for these children in need. Children ages 1-17 are eligible for the program and you can adopt a family with one child to six-plus children. You can deliver your gifts to your adopted family or deliver them to us and we will distribute them for you on Saturday, December 18th.

The Barre Code Plano is hosting a GLOW FLOW DONATION CLASS on Wednesday, September 29th at 6:30pm benefitting our Hope for the Holidays Teen Gift Program.
Light up the 2nd half of your Back to Sweat Challenge with their Glow Flow specialty class! This class format is aimed at restoring minds, bodies & spirits. Certified yoga instructor, Jessica, will lead you through a 50-minute flow and deep stretch under the blue lights with glow bracelets (you are also encouraged to wear neon!).
There will be a donation box in the studio during the class so participants can donate an item for the teens in our holiday gift program.
They will also have the donation box in the studio next week if you would like to donate but can't make it to class!

Heartfelt thanks to our partner, Atmos Energy, for their very generous sponsorship of our Tools for School and Backpack Program. With their support, we distributed over 500 backpacks full of school supplies to underprivileged students in our community. Having all of the supplies necessary to engage in the classroom experience is critical to every child's success and thanks to Atmos Energy, we helped start the year off right for these very deserving students!

We miss our summer interns Bella and Bennett! They did amazing work with us this summer and we hope Bella has a great senior year in college and Bennett has a great junior year in high school! Updating our bulletin board was one of the many projects they helped us with over the summer. We cannot thank them enough for their time, creativity, enthusiasm and hard work!!

We are thrilled to have Isabella Washka interning with us this summer! Bella is a senior at Morehead State University and will graduate in 2022 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing degree. Frisco ISD is holding a job fair on Saturday, January 16th. Several positions are available and you have to apply online.
Frisco Independent School District will host a drive-thru job fair on Saturday, January 16, 2021, to fill open positions in transportation, child nutrition, and special education. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to noon in the parking lot outside the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive in Frisco. District staff will answer questions and screen applicants for hard-to-fill positions such as bus drivers, bus monitors, crossing guards, cafeteria cooks, cashiers and special education paraprofessionals. Job descriptions are available at friscoisd.org/employment. Those interested are encouraged to submit an online application ahead of time. Attendees should wear face masks and remain in their cars throughout the screening process.
As we start a new year, we want to thank all of our volunteers, board members, donors and partners for their support during 2020. We could not do what we do without you, and we are looking forward to working together to continue serving our community in 2021.
