In recent years there has been an expansion of benefits which included the Army & Air Force Exchange Services.

The Department of Defense expanded on-installation Exchange, commissary and morale, welfare, and recreation program retail eligibility to:

• All Veterans with service-connected disabilities
• Purple Heart recipients
• Former prisoners of war
• Individuals approved and designated as the primary family caregivers of eligible veterans enrolled under the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers

Additionally, the Exchange’s Veterans Online Shopping Benefit allows all honorably discharged Veterans to shop tax free for life.

Here is the 2024 VA Compensation Rate Sheet. Make sure you update the VA of any changes with dependents as soon as those happen. If you don't you could be getting overpaid or underpaid which can dramatically affect your monthly benefit amount. | Morgan Freeman

Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1937, Morgan Freeman was the youngest of five children. He grew up frequently attending the local movie theater where he was inspired to become a pilot. After graduating high school in 1955, Freeman turned down a drama scholarship to Jackson State University to enlist in the United States Air Force.

After basic training, Freeman worked as a radar technician for more than a year before training as a pilot. When he did start training to fly, he realized that it was not right for him and he could not remain in the military. He served for nearly four years and received an honorable discharge as an airman first class in 1959 before going on to pursue his other passion that he is well-known for today: acting.
