We’re on a mission to eradicate illiteracy and build stronger communities. Join us today—every child deserves a bright future! The Russell Education Foundation is now in our 18th year of serving low-and-moderate-income students in South Florida. The Russell Reading Program was developed by Twan Russell and his mother, Corliss Russell, a Broward County Public Schools educator who drew upon her experience in the classroom, realizing what was working for her students and where they and their families needed extra assistance. Russell determined that the key to her students’ successes in all subject areas was a mastery of reading comprehension skills.

grown into multiple Reading Rooms across South Florida - all free to families, all
built on the idea that a child who can read is a child with options.

🧡None of this happens without volunteers.

The people who show up, sit down beside a student, and read one more page -
they're the reason our Reading Rooms work. No experience required. Just a couple
of hours and a willingness to be in a kid's corner.
