At approximately 1:40 PM on August 25th, our department was dispatched for a vehicle fire off Hoptree Lane in the Pinebrook Subdivision. Shortly after, dispatchers advised it was an RV on fire, Mutual aid was immediately requested from Todd Mission Volunteer Fire.
A few members who were at the station immediately responded and arrived in less than 12 minutes to find an RV heavily involved with flames threatening a residence on the property, a vehicle, and a neighboring residence.
Despite the extreme heat, our members worked swiftly to protect the surrounding exposures and bring the main fire under control. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
While crews were still on scene, they noticed smoke a few hundred feet away on an adjacent property. Members investigated and discovered several small spot fires caused by flying ash from the main fire. These fires were quickly extinguished before they had an opportunity to spread into a larger brush fire.
We are extremely grateful for the quick response and mutual aid provided by Todd Mission VFD.
