🚒🔥 Training. Preparation. Service.

This past week, our parish fire departments were in full EMR refresher mode, sharpening their skills and brushing up on our emergency medical care. Our firefighters and responders continue to put in the time and effort to stay prepared to serve our communities when they are needed most.

Trisha Gulino Mahaffey, a huge thank you! for coming out to our parish and sharing your knowledge, experience, and expertise with our departments. We truly appreciate your dedication to helping our responders improve their skills!

Outstanding work!! This is why we continuously sharpen our skills with these tools:
• Speed saves lives — hesitation during extrication costs precious time in a real entrapment.
• Precision — confident operators make cleaner cuts and purchases, reducing risk to the patient.
• Safety — familiarity with tool controls and battery/hydraulic behavior prevents mishandling injuries to both rescuer and victim.
• Team trust — when one person handles their tool confidently, the rest of the team can focus on their own tasks without double-checking.

Continuous training and updated equipment are crucial for the safe and efficient removal of trapped occupants from modern vehicles.
