The Iberville Shelter and Animal Control collects several animals weekly, with most of them being friendly and adoptable. Our main goals are help reunite lost pets with their owners, find forever homes for the animals in our care and control the population of animals within Iberville parish.

Our kennels are overflowing with incredible black dogs, and somehow they’re so often the ones overlooked. Every single one has their own goofy personality, loyal heart, and so much love waiting to give.

Meet Talia!

If happiness had four legs, it would look like her! Every single day this beautiful girl greets us with the biggest smile and full body wiggles. You can't meet this girl and not smile right back at her. Talia is dog friendly and loves playing with her new friends in our doggie playgroups.

Here's to hoping the next smile she flashes is because her new home just walked into our shelter doors!

Well… y’all didn’t just understand the assignment… you launched it!!

Our sweet little returned kitten barely had time to unpack before the phones started ringing off the hook. She has officially found her forever home! Now… can we borrow just a tiny sprinkle of that enthusiasm for the rest of our crew?

Our cat room is currently looking like the 31 Flavors menu at Baskin-Robbins. We’ve got orange, gray, black, tuxedos, tabbies, calicos, medium-haired, short-haired, spicy, sweet, clingy, independent… whatever your favorite flavor is, we probably have it waiting for you.

This precious kitten was returned through absolutely no fault of her own, and now she’s back at the shelter wondering what happened. She’s playful, affectionate, and still just a baby who deserves a family of her very own.
Our shelter is completely FULL, and every adoption opens a space for another animal in need.

This Monday’s myth: “They are in the shelter because they have something wrong with them.”

Fact: The majority of shelter pets are brought into the shelter for no fault of their own. Many are delivered as strays, and even more are brought in because their owner can no longer take care of them.
