Starting on 3/28/2026 at 0600 hours, McLeod County will be under a burning ban until 8pm. No open burning will be allowed during this time. This does not include recreational fires. Weather conditions will be monitored, and restrictions may be extended if needed.

At last nights city council meeting Ryan Neubarth was sworn in as chief also Jon Amaral and Matt Thomm were sworn in as firefighters after completing their training. Congratulations to all three.

WEATHER ALERT: A Tornado Watch has been issued for McLEOD County until 8 PM Monday night.

It is crucial to ensure you have MULTIPLE ways to receive severe weather alerts! This includes NOAA Weather Radio, local television and radio, outdoor warning sirens, and the CodeRED service. The McLeod County Sheriff's Office will also post any watches or warnings on our social media pages.
