At Siegrist, we celebrate our students and staff each month with an End-of-Month Assembly where we recognize accomplishments, present awards, and celebrate successes across our school community.

Our End-of-Year Assembly is always a special tradition as we honor students and staff through recognitions for attendance, the Siegrist Art Gallery, staff retirements, and the Education in Excellence awards. This year, we were also excited to recognize the accomplishments of the Siegrist Archery Team and celebrate their successful season.

Students also learned the results of the schoolwide theme vote for next year. After a tie in voting, the Siegrist administration decided to combine the two themes, creating our 2026-2027 theme: Driven by L.O.V.E.

The Siegrist staff would like to wish all of our students and families a fun, relaxing, and safe summer!

Siegrist’s 1st Annual Talent Show
Siegrist students who wanted the chance to perform in the talent show first had to audition for a spot. Our Student Lighthouse Team selected 22 acts out of 40 auditions to showcase their talents. In total, 45 students participated in the show.

Our judging panel included Mr. Powers, Assistant Principal at Siegrist; special guest Dr. McClure, Director of Elementary Education and former Siegrist principal; Coach Crawford, PE teacher; Aaron Jackson from custodial; and Kelia Pitzenberger, art teacher.

The talent our students displayed was incredible! The audience enjoyed a variety of performances, and from the “oohs” and “aahs” to the clapping along with the music, the students truly entertained the crowd.

After the judges’ scores were tallied, the results were:
3rd Place: Aiden Smith — Karate Demonstration
2nd Place: Amira Obayd — Comedy Act
1st Place: Daisy Wheeler — Hip Hop Dance

Congratulations to all of our talented performers and to our audience for doing such a wonderful job supporting the contestants throughout the show.

We would also like to thank Coach Stapleton and the Student Lighthouse Team for all of their hard work in putting together a flawless event. A special thank you as well to our Pirate Rock Partners, Snyder Plumbing and Heating, for providing DQ gift cards to the winners because they were so cool and Pop Rocks to all the participates because they rocked, and to Nodaway Bank for providing gift bags to all of the Student Lighthouse Team for all of their hard work.

Please enjoy the show.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdd0fOkm4aI&authuser=0

Siegrist Students Shine in Soil & Water Conservation Poster Contest
Each year, the Platte County Soil and Water Conservation District hosts a poster contest for fourth-grade students across the county. The contest is designed to educate young learners about soil conservation and the importance of protecting our natural resources. Leading up to the event, students engage with educational videos and presentations that explore topics such as soil health, erosion, and conservation practices.
Posters are evaluated based on their conservation message, visual impact, and originality. Every participant receives a ribbon—blue, red, or white—with the top three posters from each school earning special recognition.

Congratulations to this year’s Siegrist School winners:
Honorable Mentions: Garyn Messick & Elianna Bingham
3rd Place tied: Chloe Spencer & Olivia Morgan
2nd Place: Audrey Sigrist
1st Place: Evie Rush

We are proud of all our students for their creativity and commitment to conservation!
