Michael Gunn Park at Platte Meadows will be temporarily CLOSED Monday–Thursday, August 24–27 while work continues on the new restroom project. 🚻

For everyone’s safety, please stay out of the park and construction area during this time.

We appreciate your patience as we continue making improvements to the park! 🏰🌳

🚧 PARK CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

A NEW BATHROOM is being installed at Michael Gunn Park at Platte Meadows! 🎉

To allow crews to safely complete the installation, the park will be CLOSED this Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14.

We appreciate your patience while we get this new addition in place and look forward to welcoming everyone back soon! 🌳🏰

🎨 CALLING ALL ARTISTS, MAKERS & CREATIVE VENDORS!🖌️✨

Registration is now open for Art in the Park 2026, cohosted by Platte County Parks & Recreation and Platte City Friends of the Arts!

We are looking for local artists and makers who would like to display or sell original artwork, handmade items, and creative goods at this free community celebration.

🚧⚠️ Missouri Riverfront Trail Closure ⚠️🚧

📢 We know many of you have been asking about the closure of the Missouri Riverfront Trail.

🌊 The trail is currently closed due to erosion of the bridge abutments. This affects the bridge connection between Riverside and Parkville, making the trail inaccessible at that location.

🤝 Platte County is working with our partners at the City of Riverside and an engineer has been hired to evaluate the damage. Together, we are actively working on a temporary repair that will allow the bridge and trail to safely reopen as soon as possible.

🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️ We understand this trail is an important connection for many walkers, runners, and cyclists, and we appreciate your patience while we work toward a safe solution.
