๐Ÿšง Prairie Creek Greenway Trail Maintenance Project Update ๐Ÿšง

Phase I of the Prairie Creek Greenway Trail Maintenance Project will begin Tuesday, May 26.

Please expect temporary trail closures while each phase of the project is underway. If a section of the trail is closed, please use another section of the trail system during construction.

๐Ÿšœ Heavy equipment will be present on the trail as crews repave asphalt sections and repair bridge approaches.

โณ Each phase is expected to take approximately 2 weeks, with the total project anticipated to last around 2 months.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve and preserve the Prairie Creek Greenway Trail system for the community!

Please reference the attached project map for planned phases and closure areas.

A big thank you to the Platte County R-3 School District for applying for an Outreach Grant and helping bring the Northland Ethnic Festival to the community. It looks like the event was a great success and a wonderful celebration of culture, diversity, food, music, and community connection.

๐ŸŒณ BIG things are coming to Prairie Creek Greenway! ๐ŸŒณ

Platte County Parks has officially kicked off the design process for a NEW PARK at the south trailhead of Prairie Creek Greenway on N Highway, just south of the Seven Bridges subdivision! ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿฅพ๐ŸŒž

This future park will connect directly to the heavily-used Prairie Creek Greenway trail system, giving thousands of residents the opportunity to walk or bike right to the park from nearby neighborhoods.

Last week, residents from Seven Bridges, Timber Park, Lakes at Oakmont, and Copper Ridge met on-site with Platte County Parks, Commissioner Joe Vanover, and RDG Planning & Design to begin discussing ideas and vision for the space.

๐Ÿ› What would YOU like to see in the new park?
Trails? Nature play? Shelters? Gathering spaces? Fitness features?

The planning process will continue throughout the summer, including a community open house planned for July at the Platte County Community Center YMCA in Platte City.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2027, along with an extension of the Prairie Creek Greenway trail system.

Exciting things ahead for Platte County Parks! ๐ŸŒฟ
