Adventure 250 participants are proving there’s no better way to celebrate than by hitting the road and exploring South Dakota state parks! From island trails near Pierre to the hills of Custer State Park, Week 2 adventurers checked in across the state for a chance to win a 6-person tent!

Edit: Thank you everyone, the sites have been spoken for!

We have had some cancellations ahead of the holiday weekend! We currently have 2 electric sites at Buryanek, sites 1 and 31, for the entire weekend, and cabin 1 for Friday and Saturday night!
We also have an electric site available at Platte Creek, site 31, for the entire weekend!

This weekend at the Snake Creek Picnic Shelter! Tell the kids to bring their bikes and scooters to the shelter at 1PM! Decorations are provided!

We are very excited to announce the continuation of the tagged fish program at Snake Creek Recreation Area! We know that so many of you were happy to have this opportunity in our park last year and we were happy to experience it with you! This year we have some awesome prizes for those that are fortunate enough to get one of those tagged fish, we have just a short survey we ask you to fill out and that Mepps lure is all yours!

Make sure you come see us this weekend for our Open House, with free park entrance and free fishing! We also have campsites available as well and you can make a reservation today at GoOutdoorsSD.com

We are happy to share with you that comfort stations are now open at Snake Creek, Platte Creek, and Buryanek! We hope to see you out here!
Currently at Snake Creek comfort station 2 near the playground in north campground, and comfort station 3 in the south campground are open, and we will have comfort station 1 available very shortly!

Another project completed by staff this past fall was the new deck that built onto Cabin 2 at Buryanek. We did away with the old and made some adjustments, like adding a set of steps towards the fire ring, and a more gradual ramp to get into the cabin, and we hope you all will enjoy the new look!

When you visit Snake Creek this summer you may notice one of the sites looking a little different than it had last year. This past winter staff made improvements to site 48 by adding a deck to utilize more of the area at that campsite for all of guests who camp there.
