Duck Days of Summer – Week 36

It’s the first day of school in Platteville! As our students head back to school, it’s a great time for all of us to remember an important safety message: slow down in school zones and watch for our kids!

And speaking of school zones, this week’s duck is hiding near a sign that reminds us exactly how fast we should be going.

Can you find it? This one might me tricky, as we have 4 school zones it could be by.

Remember, if you find the duck, bring it to the Platteville Police Department, tell us where you found it, and the duck is yours to keep! Each duck finder is also entered into our monthly drawing for a commemorative Platteville Police Department 150th Anniversary challenge coin. Good luck hunting, and have a safe and happy first day of school.

We are venturing just outside Platteville this week for our duck scavenger hunt. The world's largest M is a must stop for locals and visitors to the Platteville area. The duck is hidden somewhere near the top in a pretty sneaky spot. Good luck!

🦆 The Duck Hunt is back! 🦆

This week, our 150th Anniversary Duck has found a peaceful hiding spot along Rountree Branch Creek!

The duck is tucked away somewhere along the creek, just waiting to be discovered. Check out the photo for a clue to help you find the right spot!

Remember to be careful around the creek and stay on public paths/areas while you're searching.

Good luck, happy hunting, and let us know when you find our little friend!

Stop by today for our annual Cops on a Roof! We are at Dunkin Donuts right now, until 10am, collecting donations for Wisconsin Special Olympics.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The Platteville Police Department is taking part in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which runs until September 30th.
If you’re going out and plan to drink, have a plan to get home safely. Designate a driver, get a ride, or call someone you trust. Don’t put yourself or someone else at risk by getting behind the wheel after drinking. Our officers will be out looking for impaired drivers and taking those drivers off the road.

Enjoy the summer, have fun, and make sure you get home safely.

This week's duck will be making a special appearance this Friday from 6a-noon at the Platteville Dunkin Donuts for the annual Cops on a Rooftop. Officers will be there collecting donations in support of Wisconsin Special Olympics. Make plans today to stop by and maybe get a duck!

UPDATE: The owner was not located. The pup was taken to the UW Veteriany Center in Madison where he received excellent care. He does have a broken leg consistent with getting hit by a car. The puppy was treated and is receiving meds. He currently is being cared for by an officer, and is resting comfortably. The little guy will stay with the officer until we can find this pup a forever home. The vet estimated he is 3 months old.

This young male was found near Lutjen and May Streets in Platteville today. He appears to be injured and we're actively trying to find his owner and get him the vet care he needs.

Hello, a concerned resident found this friendly pup on Broadway St. near Neal Wilkins. It seems to have broken loose from its chain. If this is your dog, she is being kept safe at the police department. Please give us a call at 608-348-2313. Thank you!
