This afternoon, we were dispatched to a residential structure fire. It truly took a team effort, and we have so many people to thank.

🚒 Fire Departments: Cameron, Holt, Lathrop, Edgerton/Trimble, and Gower Fire.

🚑 EMS: Tri-County EMS, Cameron EMS, and Buchanan County EMS.

🚓 Law Enforcement: Plattsburg Police Department and the Clinton County Sheriff's Department.

A special thank you to the Clinton County Communications Center for doing an outstanding job coordinating the incident and keeping everything running smoothly.

To our incredible community—thank you! The support shown today was overwhelming. From bringing snacks, water, and cold rags to checking on our firefighters, your kindness and generosity meant more than words can express.

We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Plattsburg Baptist Church for opening your doors and providing our firefighters with a cool place to sit, recover, and receive the treatment they needed so they could safely get back to work.

Days like today remind us how fortunate we are to serve such a caring and supportive community. We are grateful for every department, agency, volunteer, and citizen who played a part in today's response. Thank you all for standing with us.

The combination of low humidity, gusty southwesterly winds, and dry vegetation will lead to Elevated to Critical Fire Danger today, meaning fires could easily get out of control. Therefore, outdoor burning is strongly discouraged today.

‼️Buchanan, DeKalb, and Clinton counties motorists: another super load will be coming through the area today, Tuesday, Feb. 24. This will impact several routes and cause delays throughout the day.

Affected Routes:
U.S. 169 Highway: Between St. Joseph and Gower.
U.S. 36 Highway: Between Cameron and St. Joseph.
Missouri Route 116: Between Plattsburg and Lathrop.
Several State Routes Between St. Joseph and Lathrop.
Delays will occur at various intervals throughout the entire day as the load moves from St. Joseph to Lathrop.

We held our monthly mutual aid training last night and had the opportunity to test STIHL battery-powered saws. We extend our thanks to STIHL and Porters ACE of Lathrop for providing the demo tools.
