Child passenger safety technicians will be there to help caregivers with the installation of their car seat, make sure the seat is the right fit for the child, and ensure the car seat has no recalls. There will be a car seat check event THIS Saturday, May 13th, at the South Plattsburgh Fire Department from 10am-1:30pm. Come and get your car seats checked to keep your kiddos safe!

April is Autism Acceptance Month!

Sheriff David Favro is pleased to announce that for a third year, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office will be selling specially designed Autism Acceptance Patches to support Autism awareness and acceptance. Money raised will be donated to the Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY in Plattsburgh, NY. The Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY, who has been a big supporter of the Project Lifesaver Program at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, has been enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism and their families since 2005.

Patches are being sold for $10 each. If you would like to order a patch, please contact Sgt. Andrew Bertrand directly at 518-565-4223 or email a request to [email protected]. Patches can be picked up locally or mailed.

There are also some 2021 and 2022 patches still available.

Harsh chemicals and soaking can damage straps and affect how well the seat protects a child in a crash. Seats can be tricky to take apart and put back together. Can’t find the manual? Many manufacturers make them available for download on their websites.
