Well, I have worked so hard the past 3 weeks to get ready for the Renewal of my Daycare License for the last time. I've been doing daycare and working with children for 25 years. 4 more years to retirement.
Anyone thinking that Daycare is just babysitting children, better think again. For all the paperwork, trainings and regulations now, it's even more than a regular job. It's days of high stress, sometimes your body just aches from lifting, bending, cleaning, etc. It's days of paperwork and trainings. It's being a business owner and responsibilities of being a boss. But with all that and all the headaches that go with it, I am so proud of what I have built over the years.
Most of all, I love my kiddos! Each one has they're own little personalities. To be able to watch so many children grow up is an amazing thing. I feel so blessed. Especially when I run into some that are all grown and gone off to college, some that have started families of their own, and some that still stop by and come to visit, some that still text or call. I hope they continue to keep me posted how their lives are going and all they're accomplishments. I love the invites to Birthday parties, graduations, dance classes and soccer games. Makes everything I've done over the years, worth it all.
To all my daycare families out there, from the beginning to now, Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to help raise your little ones. Please know I will always hold a specail place in my heart for each and every one of you. It brings me so much joy to see and hear how each of them have grown over the years. I can only hope even when I do finally retire, they will still keep in touch and stop in sometimes.
Parents and kiddos, post a picture so I can see you all again!
