Today we remember.

Live a life worthy of their sacrifice.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, a barbecue, or a day off work. It is a reminder that freedom is not free.

Every freedom we enjoy was protected by men and women willing to sacrifice everything for something greater than themselves. Americans stood in harm’s way, knowing the cost, and still chose to serve. Some never made it home.

We should never take that lightly.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

— John 15:13 ESV

Today, remember the fallen. Pray for their families. Fly the flag proudly. Be grateful. And never forget that the price of freedom has always been paid by courageous men and women willing to stand for something greater than themselves.

Lord,

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this nation. Thank you for their courage, sacrifice, and willingness to stand for something greater than themselves.

Please comfort the families who still carry that loss. Help us live with gratitude, humility, and respect for the freedoms we have been given. May we never take their sacrifice for granted.

Amen.

We are so glad that our Splash Party was NOT yesterday! The forecast looks better for this week, but we shall see!
We do need to adjust the time, we had a couple of conflicts pop up and we want trucks and hoses in place before kids descend! We are still doing Thursday, May 28th, but we are doing 4 pm instead of 3 to give our volunteers time to get to the fire house and set up. We are still doing hot dogs so come hungry!
If you have a high school kid who is interested in volunteering with us, come on over! Pleasant City has had a Jr program for many, many years! Several of our members started as Jrs. Maybe your high schooler has a plan for college but still wants to volunteer with us, come see us! Several of our younger members have pursued jobs in fire or EMS, but plenty of our members have held other jobs and volunteered when they could. So come, prepare to get wet and have a great time, we are pretty excited to see everyone!

Sometimes, I have things in my brain and think I have completed a task and have not!
We are doing our End of School Water Day at the Fire House on May 28th at 3 p.m. The last day of school is the start of Memorial Day Weekend and we have people traveling. May 29th and 30th is Clean Up Days in the village and township, so we are going with the Thursday. We are bringing the water and hot dogs, are you coming and what will you bring? You'll definitely need a towel, water guns are totally acceptable 😁 The last time we all had a blast, hope you can come!
