Four pack 23 alumni have taken part in an adventure to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The Philmont Scout Ranch is a high adventure destination where scouts learn to work together as a crew to navigate the backcountry. These scouts were on a 12 day 57 mile backcountry hike summiting Mount Baldy with an elevation of over 12,441 feet, the highest peak on Ranch property. They partake in some programming such as blacksmithing, working on replacing a railroad tie, COPE course, conservation project of maintaining a trail. They encounter every type of weather, most of it was when it was time for dinner. They saw many animals, even a bear walking close to their campsite during dinner one evening. The Pack is proud of these scouts for challenging themselves with Scouting America's premiere high adventure camp.
