To our brilliant community of engineers and creative minds,

WE NEED HELP designing a method of raising and lowering our laser projectors. For safety reasons we have to project 3 meters above the audience and our current mounting below the rim of the dome impacts where the lasers terminate. If we can have a platform or other method that raises the projectors around 12 inches higher at the origin then we will gain around 7 feet of display area.

This goes beyond our area of expertise so we wanted to see if our community might help us in bringing better experiences to our growing laser audience. Please tag your wise friends and see if they are up for solving this unique challenge. Email or message us if you have a good idea or want more information on the project.

Come visit The Christa McAuliffe Space Center!

Since 1990 the Space Center has evolved from an immersive classroom experience to a community accessible space.

Our goal is to inspire and influence the lives of thousands of children as well as adults across Utah, and beyond.

Our simulators and planetarium provide an immersive environment where our community can learn. With our simulators you can take on roles that promote skills in leadership, engineering, science, and more while problem solving different challenges during each flight.

The Space Center also offers a variety of laser shows as an opportunity for connection and fun.

We are grateful for generous donations and volunteers that have made it possible to expand our facility in many ways over the years.

Our simulators are a unique experience that we offer here at The Space Center!
The starship simulators are used during our field trips, space camps, as well as open for adventures to the general public.

Age Requirements - 10 years & older

Take off on one of our 6 starships to create memories that will last a lifetime!
Additional information can be found on spacecenterutah.org to decide which starship is best for your group!

If you can't wait until summer for one of our camps, we have one available this spring. Sign up individually to join us for our most popular camp offering. You get to experience a 2.5 hour flight followed by a 5 hour flight in our simulators.
