Open Burn Reminder - Pleasant Grove City
The spring open burn window runs April 1st through May 31st. If you plan to burn, make sure you’re doing it responsibly, so we don’t create unnecessary fire department call-outs. Below is a link to the burn permit application.

Common-sense rules to follow:
• Fires must be completely out by dusk. No exceptions. Smoldering piles after dark are a fast way to get a visit from the fire department.
• Watch the wind. If it’s even moderately windy,
don’t burn. Wind + embers = problems fast.
• Keep water and tools nearby. A charged hose, shovel, or dirt pile should always be within reach.
• Keep fires small and manageable. This isn’t a bonfire event-control is the goal.
• Burn only clean, dry yard waste. No trash, construction debris, or anything that creates excessive smoke.
• Never leave a fire unattended. If you walk away, the fire should already be out.
• Avoid unnecessary call-outs. If your fire creates heavy smoke, visible flames at dusk, or looks out of control, expect someone to call it in.
A little responsibility goes a long way-burn smart, keep it safe, and help keep emergency crews available for real emergencies.
Let’s work together to keep our communities sate and maintain good air quality this season.
