Brush 72 is on the move!🔥🌲🚒
Today, Brush 72 is en route to the Northern Rockies Coordination Center in Montana to be pre-positioned in areas experiencing extreme fire weather and Red Flag Warnings, where our crew will support local agencies with rapid initial attack and wildfire response.
The PGFD Wildland Program has been a fully operational division since 2021, and we’re proud to continue assisting communities both in Utah and across the western United States.
Take a look at the map—the red pins represent the locations outside of our local response area where PGFD wildland personnel have deployed to assist with wildfire incidents over the past several years. Each pin represents our commitment to protecting lives, property, and natural resources wherever we’re needed.
Please join us in wishing our crew a safe deployment. Thank you for representing Pleasant Grove with professionalism and dedication. 🇺🇸🔥🌲

🔥WILDFIRE PREP STARTS AT HOME🔥
Pleasant Grove is surrounded by beautiful wildland areas—but that also means many homes are at increased risk during wildfire season.
Creating and maintaining defensible space is one of the most effective ways to protect your home, your family, and our community.
Here are a few simple steps you can take:
🏡 Clean leaves and debris from gutters, roofs, decks, and around your home.
🪵 Move firewood, propane tanks, and other combustible materials at least 30 feet away from structures.
🌲 Maintain defensible space by removing dead vegetation and reducing fuels around your home using the 3-zone approach.
Defensible space helps slow the spread of wildfire, reduces ember ignition, and gives firefighters a safer area to defend your home.
If you’re unsure where to start, we’re here to help. Contact the Pleasant Grove Fire Department with any questions about wildfire mitigation and prevention.
Together, we can make Pleasant Grove a more fire-adapted and resilient community.

🪢TRAINING DAY🚒
Today, C Shift spent the day sharpening their rope rescue skills while utilizing our tiller truck. Rope rescue incidents require specialized training, technical expertise, and constant practice to ensure crews are prepared when called upon.
PGFD is proud to have multiple Rope Rescue Technicians who participate in specialty response teams throughout Utah County. Regular training like this helps ensure our firefighters are ready to respond safely and effectively when the community needs us most.☀️🪜🚒

🚨🌲DEPLOYED⛰️🚨
Pleasant Grove Fire Department’s Wildland Team has deployed as part of a Utah Initial Attack (IA) Task Force to support firefighting efforts across the state.
Our firefighters are currently assigned to the Iron Fire burning near Boulter Peak outside of Eureka, where crews are working to catch new fire starts early and prevent small incidents from becoming large-scale wildfires.
Utah’s IA Task Forces play a critical role in rapid wildfire response, providing additional resources and personnel to support local agencies during periods of elevated fire danger.
Please join us in wishing our crew a safe deployment as they work alongside firefighters from across Utah to protect lives, property, and natural resources.

Yesterday afternoon Pleasant Grove fire department along with other agencies assisted American Fork fire and rescue with a large brush fire near I-15.

We want to use this as a reminder for everyone just how big of a risk wildfires are. And to use extreme caution this summer with the dry heat that we have had and lack of moisture that we received this winter.

Please do not park hot vehicles over tall or dry grass. For vehicles that are pulling trailers, ensure that the load is secured and that no chains are dragging along the road.

With holidays upcoming and fireworks sales beginning, we want to make sure Pleasant Grove residents are aware of the fireworks restrictions within the city. Fireworks are restricted in certain areas of the city. Areas near the mountain and all city parks are included in a restricted area where ALL firework devices are illegal. There are also additional areas in the city where ONLY aerial fireworks are illegal. This includes the street right-of-way along the boundary of restricted areas and all city parks.
