🌞 HEAT SAFETY REMINDER 🌞
High temperatures can become dangerous very quickly. The Henrietta Township Fire Department encourages everyone to take a few simple precautions to stay safe during hot weather:
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade if you’re working or playing outside.
⏰ Limit strenuous outdoor activities to the early morning or evening.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone with medical conditions who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
⚠️ Know the warning signs of heat-related illness:
• Heavy sweating
• Dizziness or fainting
• Headache
• Nausea
• Muscle cramps
• Confusion
If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, or stops sweating and has hot, dry skin, call 911 immediately. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency. (cdc.gov)
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.
