The boil order has been lifted!

If you haven’t already, flush lines and toss out any ice that your refrigerator may have made during the boil order.

I want to thank our Public Works crew: Dan, Todd, and Braedyn for their hard work repairing the leak.

Also, Patti and Jessica for handling everything in the office and calling as many residents as possible.

And Chief Long and Officer Ollech for helping with traffic control during the water event.

Our public works crew will be out flushing hydrants today. Please give them room as they work. You will likely need to flush the lines in your house as well, as this process can stir up contaminants in the lines.

Boil order remains in effect.

We are currently still under a boil order. The repair has been fixed thanks to the hard work of our Public Works crew. We will remain under a boil order until the Illinois EPA identifies how many test samples we need and is able to test them. This will likely not occur during the weekend. We will inform you when the boil order is lifted.

The Village is currently experiencing a water leak that is affecting a large portion of our water customers and their water pressure. We just discovered it, and our crews are on site and assessing a fix. We currently do not have an eta on the repair, but will keep you posted as we learn more.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the Village of Pleasant Plains’ Public Works Department will be applying Oil and Chip Rock on Main Street, Lincoln Street and Grant Street. The work is scheduled begin at approximately at 6:00 a.m.

Please do not park along these roadways.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of New Berlin Police Chief Terry Nydegger. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and our New Berlin neighbors. His dedication and decades of service are a huge loss for the community.

The Village of Pleasant Plains and our Police Department are ready to assist New Berlin with whatever they need during this difficult time.
