On Friday, we welcomed back some very special visitors as this year’s graduating seniors walked the halls of PPE one last time. Our current students lined the halls to cheer and celebrate, and the seniors had the opportunity to reconnect with some of their former PPE teachers and classmates.

We are so very proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see what their futures hold!

Congratulations, seniors! You’ll always be part of our PPE family. 💙

The 2026 Spark Award winner at PPE is Mr. Brian Zielsdorf! We celebrated Mr. Z this morning with a special event that included his wife and parents. Mr. Z. is a 5th grade teacher who also served as our Dean of Students this semester.

Spark Awards are given annually to honor staff who live our KUSD core values and go above and beyond for students, families and colleagues. Congratulations, Mr. Z!

📚Last week, over 200 volunteers visited KUSD classrooms for the 16th Annual Read Across Kenosha, hosted by the United Way of Kenosha County. PPE welcomed 9 community members who shared the joy of reading with some of our classrooms!

We are excited to partner with Kenosha Spiritwear to help families celebrate important educational milestones. Celebrate your child's achievement and show your school pride by displaying a milestone yard sign! 🎓🏫

Families can purchase yard signs to recognize 5th grade promotion, 8th grade promotion, and graduating seniors. Even better, a portion of the proceeds from every sign purchased goes directly back to the specific school, helping support students and school programs.

Order Information:
Visit https://kenoshaspiritwear.com/collections/kusd-yard-signs by Thursday, April 30, to place an order.

Pickup Information:
Orders will be available for pickup at schools beginning May 18. If you are ordering signs for students at multiple schools, please note your preferred pickup location when placing the order. Kenosha Spiritwear will send all your signs to that single location to make pickup easier.

Note: Schools must have 12 or more orders to process orders. If fewer than 12 orders are received, Kenosha Spiritwear will issue refunds for pending orders.

Elementary students and their families are invited to join us for a delicious evening of literacy fun! Step into our “restaurant” where books are always on the menu!

Families will:
📚 Sample a variety of book genres
📚 Get the scoop on signing up for a library card
📚 Learn the benefits of reading together
📚 Discover easy, fun ways to encourage reading at home

Bring your family and get ready to "taste" some good books! A light family meal will also be served.

Kindergarten through 5th grade students at Pleasant Prairie Elementary School have been learning bowling skills and building teamwork all unit long, and they had a blast lighting up the lanes!

PPE Staff had a blast last week doing an Underground (Secret) Spirit Week. Students didn’t know what the theme days were, so it was fun to watch them try to figure it out! Can you deduce what each day was? 🤩 (Many thanks to our staff morale team for a fun winter diversion!)
