Well, Pleasant Valley… meet ROSCOE! 🐶💙

This handsome gentleman was found wandering near Pleasant Valley Road and Orchard.

Roscoe is an intact male, and unfortunately, he wasn’t wearing a collar and doesn’t have a microchip. Since he didn’t come with a name tag, we’ve taken the liberty of naming him Roscoe. We think it suits him! 😎🐕

Roscoe is currently enjoying the hospitality of the Pleasant Valley Police Department kennel, but we’re pretty sure he’d rather be home with his family!

🐾 FOUND DOG — HELP US GET THIS SWEET GIRL HOME! 🐾

⛈️ Apparently, tonight’s storm was a little too much for this four-legged lady!

This sweet female dog was found running scared in the area of Chas Drive and Kaill Road following tonight’s severe weather.

Thankfully, she is now safe and sound in the Pleasant Valley Police Department’s kennel, where she can relax while we work to reunite her with her family! 🐶❤️

Mother Nature has certainly made her presence known tonight!

The Pleasant Valley Police Department has received reports of widespread power outages throughout the city, along with storm-related damage from this evening’s severe weather.

⚠️ Please keep the following safety reminders in mind:

⚡ Power Outages: We have attached a flyer containing Evergy’s contact information for reporting outages, checking restoration updates, and other electrical concerns.

🌳 Storm Damage: Be cautious of fallen trees, downed limbs, debris, and other storm-related hazards. Please avoid damaged areas whenever possible.

🚨 Downed Power Lines: NEVER approach or touch a downed power line. Always assume it is energized. Stay clear and report it immediately.

🚗 Travel Safely: If you must venture out tonight, use extra caution. Roadways may contain debris, standing water, or other unexpected hazards.

📞 Emergencies: Call 911 for immediate threats to life or safety. Please report routine power outages directly to Evergy so emergency lines remain available.

🔦 Check on Your Neighbors: If it is safe to do so, check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need additional assistance during an extended outage.

🚨🏈 PLEASANT VALLEY… WE HAVE HORSES IN TOWN AGAIN. 🏈🚨

Apparently after taking care of the Broncos last week, Chiefs Kingdom has decided one horse-themed team wasn’t enough. 😂🐴

Tonight, the Indianapolis Colts ride into Arrowhead for Sunday Night Football, and your Pleasant Valley Police Department has a few important game-day reminders:

❤️ Wear RED.

💛 Be LOUD.

🌭 Eat an irresponsible—but medically survivable—amount of game-day food.

📺 Yelling “CHHHHIIIIIEEEEEFS!” loud enough for your neighbors to hear is highly encouraged. (Maybe check on the neighbor who doesn’t yell it back. Suspicious behavior.) 👀

🍺 If adult beverages are part of your game plan, have a designated driver, call a ride, or stay where you are. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.

🚗 Buckle up, slow down, put the phone away, and remember: the goal is to make it home safely after the game.

And if you happen to see a few Colts wandering around looking confused tonight…

Please remain calm.

Arrowhead can have that effect on visiting teams. 😂🔥

THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ARE BACK! ❤️💛

Tonight, the Chiefs open things up against the Denver Broncos, and here at the Pleasant Valley Police Department, we would like to remind everyone of a few important public-safety tips:

🏈 Wear red. It’s basically required.

🌭 Consume game-day beverages responsibly, however, game day snack calories eaten during Chiefs games do not count! Those are magic calories.

📺 Yelling at your television is perfectly legal. Your neighbors may have questions, though.

🚗 If you’re heading out to watch the game, designate a sober driver. Chiefs Kingdom needs you back next week.

🐴 If you see a lost Bronco wandering around Pleasant Valley tonight, please don’t panic. There’s a good chance the Chiefs just ran it out of Arrowhead. 😂

And finally, remember: friends don’t let friends root for Denver. We can’t arrest them for it…but we can certainly question their judgment. 👀😂

Pleasant Valley, we have an urgent weather situation developing.

After weeks of temperatures hovering somewhere between “surface of the sun” and “why did I even bother showering?”… today’s high is expected to be only…

We know. We’re concerned too.

For your safety, PVPD would like to remind everyone to dress appropriately for these dangerously chilly conditions.

🧥 Consider a light jacket.
🧣 Locate your scarves.
🧤 Check on your elderly neighbors.
☕ Pumpkin spice may now be medically necessary.
🔥 Please resist the urge to start a bonfire in your living room.

After surviving 100°+ temperatures, a sudden plunge into the 70s can be shocking to the Missouri system. If you begin experiencing goosebumps, the uncontrollable urge to say “Ope, little chilly out here,” or find yourself considering turning off the air conditioner…

SEEK WARMTH IMMEDIATELY.

Hypothermia is no laughing matter.

78 degrees, however, is. 😂

Enjoy it while it lasts, Pleasant Valley. This is Missouri. We could be back to 103° by dinner, have a thunderstorm at midnight, and need an ice scraper by Friday.
