James Baird State Park The park features a Robert Trent Jones-designed 18-hole golf course, a driving range, two picnic shelters, a playground and tennis courts.

The park was established through the generous donation of farm land owned by James Baird, a contractor and engineer whose firm constructed the Lincoln Memorial. Come out and enjoy some of the best snow condtions in many years. Trails are groomed for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
Parking is availble at the driving range and day use lots. Hikers and snowshoes please follow directional signs and stay on the designated sides of the trails. This allows our skiers to enjoy smoother surfaces.

We are excited to annouce we have opened a new section of James Baird State Park. This new property is approximatley 140 acres and located to the west of the main park acrossed Freedom Road. We are now offering groomed ski trails here. These trails are a good mix of open farm land and woods, offering some beautiful views of Freedom Plains. There is a small parking lot located at 103 Freedom Road, Pleasant Valley NY.
