Herb Ritter, Rotary District 5170 Governor 2025-26 Official page for the Herb Ritter, Rotary District 5170 Governor 2025-26 In 1990 I moved into the Hacienda Apartments in Pleasanton.

I graduated from Washington State University in 1987 with a BSEE Degree and started working at Square D/Schneider Electric in Stockton, CA. While working, I completed my MBA from Saint Mary’s College and progressed through the corporate ranks of Schneider Electric. I met my wife, Cathy Campbell Ritter, who grew up in Pleasanton and we were married in 1994. We have two children currently attending

Foothill High School and Arizona State University. I also manage the Ritter Family Real Estate Holdings which owns a number of commercial properties in the Northwest and Tahoe. We own and operate a vacation rental business which has properties in Lake Tahoe, CA; Coeur d’Alene, ID; and Tempe, AZ. I have been very active and involved in many charitable and community organizations in Pleasanton. Being an active member of Pleasanton North Rotary since 1991, as a past President, past Foundation President, and past Assistant Governor, I was able to work with many outstanding individuals doing the work of Rotary placing “service above self”. In 2006 I started my involvement with the City of Pleasanton when I was appointed to the Trails Ad Hoc Committee, and then in 2008 was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission. After six years of service I am currently the Chair of the Planning Commission in the City of Pleasanton. I have enjoyed working with and meeting many of the very smart people of Pleasanton who help keep our community the city of planned progress.

Great leadership starts with great conversations! 🚀

Area 5 Governor Steve Van Dorn recently brought together current and future club presidents to celebrate an incredible year of service, growth, and impact across Area 5. The team reflected on their successes, shared ideas, and looked ahead to an even brighter future for Rotary.

District Governor Herb Ritter was impressed by the passion, collaboration, and leadership demonstrated by this outstanding group. The future of Rotary District 5170 is in great hands!

As I enter my final month as District Governor of Rotary District 5170, I'm wondering where the year went—and who stole my calendar! 😄

What an incredible journey. Together we've welcomed new members, served our communities, raised funds, built friendships, and proven that a bunch of positive people really can do positive things with a purpose.

Thank you to all 63 clubs and the amazing Rotarians of Greater Silicon Valley for the memories, laughter, and support.

We still have one month left, so let's keep telling the Rotary story and showing the world what Service Above Self looks like.

Now... who's ready for the Roast & Toast? 😉

This weekend we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy, and the moments we share with family and friends, came at a tremendous cost.

Thank you to those heroes who truly placed Service Above Self. 🇺🇸❤️💙💛✏️
