This is due to increasing winds and low humidity levels. There are currently multiple fires in the area, and numerous fire crews are actively working to bring them under control.

No outdoor burning is allowed.

Please remember to be patient when contacting dispatch for burn permits. At times, they are handling a high volume of calls along with active emergency radio traffic.

Our dispatchers do an outstanding job day in and day out, and Linn County Rural Fire District #1 truly appreciates everything they do.

🚫 No Outdoor Burning – Linn County

Due to current dry conditions and increased fire danger, all outdoor burning in Linn County is prohibited until further notice.

These conditions can cause fires to spread rapidly and become difficult to control. For the safety of our community and firefighters, please refrain from any outdoor burning at this time.

This includes:
• Brush piles
• Trash burning
• Agricultural burns
• Burn barrels
• Any other open outdoor fires

We will provide an update as soon as conditions improve and outdoor burning can safely resume.

If you see smoke or an unattended fire, please report it immediately to Linn County Dispatch at 913-795-2665 (Option #3).
