Tonight, our members will gather at Graham Hills Park to honor and remember the legacy of Thomas Dorr Sr.

30 years ago on January 7th 1996, Firefighter Dorr was to respond to our Washington Ave firehouse for a winter storm standby due to the 1996 Blizzard. When Thomas never showed up for the standby, a search party was called to find him. Dorr’s remains were found buried under the snow.

Known as the “Gentle Giant”, Firefighter Thomas Dorr was a member of Pioneer Engine Company #1. His case still remains unsolved and “cold”. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Westchester County Police Department - Detectives Division.

The Candlelight Vigil will take place:
Tonight (January 12th)
7:00 PM
Parking Lot of Graham Hills Park.

🚒 Public Safety Announcement – Illegal Parking Puts Lives at Risk 🚒

Please remember that illegal parking, especially double parking or parking near fire hydrants, creates serious delays for emergency responders. Fire trucks, ambulances, and police need clear, unobstructed streets and immediate access to hydrants to respond quickly during emergencies.

When vehicles block roadways or hydrants:
* Fire apparatus may be unable to pass
* Firefighters lose critical time connecting to water sources
* Lives and property are put at greater risk

We ask all residents and visitors to:
✔️ Obey posted parking regulations
✔️ Never double park
✔️ Keep fire hydrants clear at all times

Your cooperation helps ensure first responders can do their jobs safely and efficiently when every second counts. Thank you for helping keep our community safe.
